Tell us about your personal styling business. I believe that our style is how we represent ourselves when we walk into a room. I help women create looks that bring out who they are on the inside and reflect that in their style to be their most confident and authentic selves. Before I was a personal stylist, I worked in corporate America for 18 years in New York City and San Francisco.
During my nine years in accounting, I worked with clients throughout various industries and across the globe. Through that process I got to know many different industries and cultures. That helps me work with clients now in my personal styling business because I understand what their work environment is like. I can help bring their personality to their wardrobe while respecting their company dress code.
I also love to do branding photo shoot styling for my entrepreneur clients. It’s a lot of fun to get to know someone and their message, and then figure out how to bring that out in their photographs through clothing, accessories, and the overall setting. It’s visual storytelling and styling is about telling that story without speaking.
What’s your favorite “go-to” look when you want to look and feel your best? A blazer always makes me feel instantly confident and in charge. I love the way it pulls a look together whether that is with a power suit, a pair of pants, skirt, or dress, or my favorite pair of jeans. Maybe it is the corporate world ingrained in me, but putting on a blazer feels a bit like going home.
