How many times have you bought a dress for a specific occasion and then let it sit in your closet after only on wear? When choosing a dress, it makes sense to find one that you can wear both on the weekends and to work, to get the most wear out of it. This is true even with the classic summer dress – the sundress. You can easily transition a sundress from work to weekend with the right accessories and shoes. We made this WHBM sundress work in a Business Casual environment, and any weekend event you may have as well.
Sundress for Work Look
Add work-appropriate accessories
To make a sundress work-appropriate, first of all make sure your shoulders are covered. Unless you work in a casual environment, it’s usually a must to cover up your shoulders. Doing so with a cropped cardi is a great way to still showcase the lovely floral print of this dress. A braided belt highlights your waistline, and nude pumps add an elegant touch. Lastly, be conservative with your jewelry – a pair of simple but pretty gold hoops are just the thing to take this look up a notch.
Sundress for Weekend Look
Liven it up with statement jewelry
On the weekend, you can easily dress this sundress up or down. We’ve dressed it up with some block-heel sandals, and a layered necklace and coordinating hoop earrings. You can play with statement-making jewelry and fun sandals for a weekend look. This would be a great outfit for a summer wedding, shower, or another dressy occasion. Pair it with flat sandals to dress it down a bit.
You can take this idea with any existing sundress you may own. Just make sure it’s not too short or low-cut. Stick with a midi-length style to look the most professional. You can also try adding a blazer to a sundress as well, to dress it up even more.
